ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Maureen Hourihan has lived most of her life on Cape Cod but grew up in a double-decker in Springfield, MA. She’s written short stories, Vintage, a magazine column, and “Slow Train”, a moving and humorous play. She earned her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts, where an early version of Up So Floating won several awards including the Marion Dane Bauer Award.
